Nickel is one of the Magnetic Men, a team of androids created by Magneto as a homage to his original Brotherhood who were killed. The Magnetic Men all possess the memories of their Brotherhood counterparts.
The hotheaded Nickel possesses super-speed as well as a keen intellect, which makes him a valuable member of the Magnetic Men.
Nickel was once challenged to a race by Mercury of the JLX. Nickel found the mutant so annoying that he tripped the brat with a quickly morph-stended foot and declared himself the winner.
