AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully we have a liston who is going to be in explosion. Gald to see characters like Dystiny, Iceman, Gambit, Apocalypse, Shadowcat w/ lockheed, and even Green Goblin. But I am upset that there is still no Archangel:arch:, Dazzler:dazzler:, and Havok:havok:. I for one think that that wizkids needs to put out a new expansion pack every other month.....this game is awsome and to many characters still to make.

That Iceman is the coolest. Luckily Green Goblin is the only unique I'll be looking for everywhere. :)

Honestly, I'm not all that impressed with the list. I think we were sold short. Yeah it's X-men heavy but there's less than ten minis that I actually want. There's a lot of crap in there. I think if they are gonna theme a set that's wahta they should do. Know what I mean?
Yeah, I know that they need to use the likes of Spidey, Hulk, etc. but that should be the exception... NOT the rule.

But if they were to tailor the set so that it consisted entirely of X-figures, it would probably drastically reduce their customer base. Having an awaited figure such as Iron Man appear in Xplosion, for instance, has gotten a lot of non-X-fans excited, whereas they had vowed to avoid the set if it turned out to be all X-Men.

Also, there are far more X-Men and related characters in here than there were FF figures for Clobberin' Time. The most that WizKids ever said was that it would be centered around the X-Men, not that it would be X-Men only, and I think that this list lives up to the deal.

KnockaroundGuy

Re-reading my post I do see that I've come across as "THERE SHOULD ONLY BE X-MEN!" But that's really not what I ment. I do understand the market-ability (is that a real word?) and was not bothered that Irom Man was in it given the massive requests for him (Even Cimson Dynamo... I mean Iron man needs someone to fight right?) but like with Clobberin' Time, there is so much potential going to waste here. Clobberin' Time... Not even a mention of Silver Surfer and Submariner. X-Plosion... No Jubilee, Bishop, Cable or Havok. Essential characters in my opinion. Can anyone say Bastion?
I'm just saying that they don't seem to be thinking too hard when they're coming up with their lists. I honestly don't see too many minis I'll be after... And I've been an X-men fan going on fifteen years.

Zach Kinkead

I can understand being a bit upset about Cable (because he had his own long running comic) and Jubilee (because everyone knows her from the old Fox show) but with some of the others, well, you can't make everyone happy all the time and you can't put all the characters in the set.

And like Dave said, the X-Men set has a heck of a lot more X-Men related figures than the F4 set had F4 related figures

Joey Meyers
Mar 2, 2003, 03:46 pm
True, although on on the plus side, they did put in some of the "main" F4 characters, the team, She-Hulk, even short timer Medusa. (does mean we'll see the Scott Lang Ant Man and Power Man with F4 team abilities at some point?) Plus their main bad guy, Doc Doom and his Doombots (ok, so no Silver Surfer or Moleman, but I thought it was pretty good anyway).

Although it's interesting that there isn't as many Avengers in this set, compared to the previous two.

Basically their figures that are more rare, but generally more powerful. Sometimes they'll be for a particularly powerful character (like Apocalypse, Darkseid, and Thanos), or a different variation of a character (like Batman from Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Strikes back", or Cyclops wearing his costume from the early Claremont/Cockrum stories)

Pics of the majority of them are up on www.hcrealms.com right now. This set looks good. There's a variety in the abilities of the new x-men characters which I like. My only worry is how I'm going to pay for all these and how to decide on only 300 points of x-men. There's well over 1000 points of x-men now if you take the vet version of each.

Oh, there IS a Destiny figure! You're right, Lonewolf, I'll be picking up her and Mystique when I can get my hands on them (probably off eBay) :D

That's pretty neat; I never figured Destiny would get a HC figure. Or, at most, she'd be a Unique.

Multiple Man would be cool!
You could actually make him multiply if you buy more of him.

You know what I love most about wizkids heroclix? Don't care to bad I am stating it anyway:heh:. They make the great characters that everyone wants like Spiderman, Wolverine, Thing, Thor, Storm, Gambit, and many more. What I find great about them is that they also make the characters that you would never think would get made in a game like Nightmare, Mojo, Medusa, Destiny, and Crimson Dynimo. So for those who say that wizkids isn't doing that good of a job getting figures into an expansion pack, just wait, I am sure they will get the figures that you want in time.

Well there are deffinently some cool figures here. Looking forward to getting my hands on Iceman, Colossus, Abomination, and hopefully the new unique Hulk.

But where's Angel and Banshee? I guess I'll just have to keep waiting.

Whomever claims that Bishop, Cable, And Havok are eesentials is wrong.

Right now the only essential I see is Archangel, because he was an original x-man. Following that whould be the all new, all different x-men, which it looks like they have most of. Then maybe Bishop and Cable, but some of these characters have been around longer than them and should be made clix before them.

While Multiple Man would be cool, I don't think that you could correctly get his powers right to reflect his duplicates.

Now if only they make a Galactus Fig......

(If they do, I'm going to mod him and put that one Celestial from Earth X that looks like it has a coffee mug for a head in his hands............

Gambit...? Gambit...?! GAMBIT IS IN IT?! YESSSSS!!!!

THANK YOU MARVEL AND CREATORS OF HEROCLIX! Can't wait to get this figure! Lots of interesting characters in this expansion, like Scorpion and Iceman and Colossus... too bad Apocalypse and Sauron are the unique one's. Hope I'll get them though...

Yeay, this is one cool set!

I almost wish they had done a powerless mohawk Storm as a Unique, but they didn't, although on the plus side, the experienced Storm represents that time for Ororo wih, from what I heard, lost of stealth and leadership so I'm going to try and snag that one if I'm able.

I was so hoping for a Longshot figure, possibly a unique. He'd have blades/claws/fangs, probability control, and perhaps super senses and ranged combat expert. His speed would be about 8, his attack a 7, his defense at 17, damage 1. He'd have a range of about 4 or 5.

With Mojo and Spiral out there I'm surprised they haven't done one for him yet.

This set looks awesome. But why does Boom-Boom have only 2 experience levels, and, more importantly, why is she even in the set?!?! They might as well have made a Sammy figure.

Other than that, we finally get Collosus, Iceman, Beast, and Gambit. Okay, so one is dead and the other looks ridiculous now, but they still belong here. And for that, I am thankful.

Boom-Boom's veteran version is actually named Meltdown, to reflect the different codename the character had. A shame her Experienced version wasn't so-named Boomer!

As for why she's in the set, I think it's great that WizKids are giving fans versions of lesser-known characters and not just sticking to the big guns. It'd be pretty boring if the set was all just Wolverine, Spider-Man, DD, Elektra, and Hulk and noone else! Plus it helps flesh out the 3-D HeroClix Marvel Universe.

And I hope they do make a Sammy figure! That'd be sweet!

A thought for all you clix sculpt customizers out there: A Con Artist might be an excellent figure (sculpt wise, not stat wise) to rework for a current costume Husk.
