Street Fighter #3 continues UDON’s adapted early stories of the Street Fighter characters. The issue starts out with Ryu awakening from a malicious dream of attacking Ken. Akuma senses this and foreshadows the dark energy Ryu possibly has. The build-up of this subplot is coming along quite well.
In another anticipated feature match-up, probably what Street Fighter can be looked forward for each month, Ken and Vega face-off! The match-up is well done with each getting their jarring hits, making it a believable fight.
As for Chun Li and Guile, they stumble upon Bison's new mysterious operative, Agent Shadow. Who could he possibly be? The darker elements of Street Fighter is its most enjoyable plots.
The story progress nicely with hints of newer characters and more puzzling plots around; yet, some complexity could add to a lot. Then again, that’s probably not what fans read Street Fighter for. The main content does feel short.
The artwork of Street Fighter is probably what really keeps it fighting. The combined efforts of UDON Studios create a vivid and fast story. The coloring and lighting effects add much to the scenes.
As a whole, each issue of Street Fighter is a nice package. The cover by Alvin Lee is an amazing dynamic. As well as the monthly story, the backup story and ‘Cheap Shots!’ give the reader extra content and variety.
Street Fighter #3 is another dose of fun and quick action.
