Several centuries ago, the templar knight Dumas split from his group to found his own Order of St. Dumas. They pillaged villages to gain their wealth, and eventually came upon the fabled treasure of King Solomon. Using this capital, this secret society began collecting information to forward its personal agendae and researching technology that would advance them far beyond the rest of the known world. To guard their knowledge and wealth, the Order created the Azraels. For many generations, each Azrael passed on from father to son.
With the main Order of St. Dumas headquarters in Switzerland shut down by Jean Paul Valley, and after a falling out with him herself, Sister Lilhy convened with the Asian branch of the Order. When she returned to Jean Paul in Gotham City, she brought along this new Azrael. Sister Lilhy taunted Valley with the possibility that his mother was still alive and leading him with clues as to how he could find her. This Azrael stowed away on a plane trip Valley was on in the search for his mother, intending to kill him. The plane crashed in territory that was controlled by a mercenary named General McGog. The two Azraels cooperated briefly to be able to defeat McGog and his men. However, they parted as enemies once more. This Azrael then came under the service of Jeremiah Thompkins, Dr. Leslie Thompkins' brother who had been missing. He would then cross paths with Valley once more when the latter was asked by Dr. Leslie to find her missing brother. Jeremiah Thompkins ordered this Azrael to kill Sister Lilhy, but he was killed by Valley, who was protecting her.
Like other Azraels before him, this Azrael was trained by the Order of St. Dumas to be a pure killing machine. He wore the Azrael armour and costume type that was made by Nomoz specifically for Jean Paul Valley, which imitated Valley, who was now wearing a different costume, as he associated that original look with an often uncontrollable rage. Like those before him, he also wielded a flaming sword to slay his opponents.
