Tim Drake was a child born into privilege. His family owned Drake Industries and he never wanted for anything. As a child he attended a circus that was headlined by the Flying Graysons. Before the event, Tim's father, Jack, arranged for Tim to have his photo taken with the Graysons. Tim received special attention from Dick Grayson and was left anxious to see the Graysons perform, especially his new hero, Dick. Tim followed the Graysons' every move with his eyes. Tim spent most time studying Dick's technique and marvelling at his "quadruple hop" in the air. The show continued to bewitch the small boy until the jump line holding Jon and Mary Grayson broke, resulting in the elder Graysons falling to their deaths. Tim looked on as Batman arrived on the scene. Quickly his parents carried him away from the circus.

Tim remained traumatized by what he saw and had nightmares of Dick's quadruple hop, the following death of the Graysons and finally Batman's image emerging onto the scene, for years to come. This changed one-day when Tim was aged 9 and saw a TV clip of Batman being saved by Robin. Robin used a quadruple hop in the air to assist the Dark Knight. Knowing that the move was supremely difficult, Tim immediately concluded that Dick Grayson was Robin. By following standard enquiries, Tim found that Dick was Bruce Wayne's ward and thus deduced that Bruce Wayne must be Batman. Tim continued to follow news of Batman and Robin, ensuring he kept up to date with the pair. When Robin joined the Teen Titans, Tim was unable to follow his exploits, but when he heard that Nightwing had emerged as the new leader of the team, he knew that Dick Grayson had adopted a new codename. Following Bruce Wayne's activities closely, Tim linked Bruce's adoption of Jason Todd and the emergence of a new Robin, successfully deducing yet another secret identity. This was confirmed for Tim when Jason's death was reported and Batman's sidekick mysteriously disappeared at the same time.

Following the death of Jason Todd, Tim saw Batman's actions as becoming more violent. With his parents spending more time away and being less concerned about Tim's whereabouts, he was able to sneak away to New York without difficulty. Whilst there he attempted to convince Nightwing to return to Batman's side as Robin, in order to balance Batman's crime fighting life. Nightwing explained that this wasn't possible, but tried with Alfred, to bring Batman back to normality. In the mean time, Tim entered the Batcave and donned Jason Todd's Robin costume. Confronting Batman in the costume, Tim managed to shock him back into reality. Realising the feats that Tim had carried out in order to get that far, and the skills he must possess in order to deduce his identity, Batman agreed that there was a possibility of Tim one day becoming the third Robin once he had received proper training.

Tim started training with Batman, unbeknownst to his parents. This was interrupted though, when Tim's parents were hijacked in a plane over Haiti. A villain named Obeah Man, who headed up a voodoo cult, held them ransom for $10 million. Travelling to Haiti, Batman tried his best to rescue Tim's parents. However, a drink of poisoned water left Jack in a coma and killed Tim's mother. Tim moved in with Bruce permanently, not blaming him for the state of his parents. Despite his desire to become Robin, Batman's cautious attitude after Jason's death, meant that Tim's training wasn't rushed. Batman trained Tim physically and mentally, improving his analytical, strategical and detective skills. Batman also made sure that Tim maintained good grades in school. After much time Batman admitted that Tim was ready. Equipped with a new, hi-tech, costume, Tim was finally allowed to call himself Robin. Tim was not entirely comfortable in his role however, and left for Paris to train with a series of martial arts masters. This training was cut short when he encountered the Ghost Dragons and King Snake. Robin helped to prevent King Snake from unleashing the bubonic plague on Hong Kong. Robin received training from Lady Shiva, the premier martial artist in the world. Shiva gifted him a wooden Bo staff, which Robin adapted to the metallic staff he currently uses.

Robin returned from Europe and adventured alongside Batman. Rarely did he venture on his own. When Bane broke Bruce Wayne's back and Jean Paul Valley took over the mantle of Batman, Robin was evicted from the Batcave. Robin opposed Jean Paul Valley's violent attitude that reminded him of Bruce's attitude that first caused Tim to become Robin. With time Robin's father emerged from his coma and Bruce was trying to recuperate his back, leaving Robin as a solo adventurer, helping his father recover. When Dick took over the Batman mantle until Bruce was fully fit, Robin aided him and the two forged a real friendship. When Bruce resumed the Batman role, Robin followed, rejoining his adventures. Amongst these adventures was a time when Tim succumbed to the Clench virus that was running rampant in Gotham. Facing near death, Tim was ironically saved by Jean Paul Valley's discovery of the cure in ancient texts. Robin also adventured alongside the Atom's branch of the Titans, rescuing Fringe from the Veil and helping train the young hero Argent in hand to hand skills. However, Robin turned down Argent's offer of membership, though he later returned to help the team during the Technis crisis.

Instead Robin joined Impulse and Superboy at the epicentre of a conflict involving an ancient Atlantean force that possessed a Boston teenager, named Matthew Stuart, granting him godlike powers. Stuart was responsible for transporting the entire adult population to a simulated Earth devoid of children. Stuart, under the mystical influence, began calling himself Bedlam and allowed the remaining adolescents to have destructive free rein. Robin, Superboy, and Impulse (as well as the adult Captain Marvel) were instrumental in his defeat. The trio decided to remain a team and took the name of Young Justice. Basing themselves in the JLA's old Happy Harbour headquarters, the team soon embarked on their first adventure, unearthing a Super-cycle of New Genesis origin. The team were joined by Red Tornado, who awoke from his stasis to become their mentor. Arrowette, Wonder Girl, Secret, Slobo, Empress, Ray and later Snapper Carr, as a replacement mentor, soon joined the young heroes in expanding the team. Through various missions Robin acted as the team's strategic mastermind and field leader. However, Batman made him promise that he wouldn't reveal his secret identity to his teammates or appear in public with the team. This caused some friction amongst the team, but never resulted in a major falling out. Whilst with the team, Robin caught the attentions of Secret and Arrowette, but eventually dated Ariana Dzerchenko, an orphaned daughter of a printing company owner. This relationship ended amicably, with Tim moving on to a relationship with Stephanie Brown, the teenage vigilante known as Spoiler.

When the villain known as Klarion the Witch Boy managed to transform almost all of the world's heroes by reversing their age, Tim found himself wearing the mantle of Batman for one night. Through this night Tim experienced the Batman role for the first time, experiencing the fear that Batman evokes in people. After Batman confided that he sees Tim as a successor to his role as Gotham's chief protector, Tim said he wasn't sure if he would accept the job, but if he did it wouldn't be as Batman.

Recently Young Justice went under mass changes. Slobo died and Secret lost her powers after Robin managed to talk her down from Darkseid's influences. Severely depleted, the team were approached by the conglomerate known as Optitron. Offering to sponsor both the Titans and Young Justice, Optitron's offer couldn't be accepted as the android Indigo travelled from the future and in the ensuing confusion killed Titans members Lilith and Troiaand injured Young Justice member Empress. Overwhelmed with grief, Dick disbanded the Titans at Troia's funeral. Tim felt partially responsible for the deaths of the Titans, along with the rest of Young Justice and so the group decided to perfect their skills under proper leadership. Joining with veteran Titans members Cyborg, Beast Boy and Starfire; Robin, Superboy, Impulse and Wonder Girl formed the newest incarnation of the Teen Titans. Recently, Robin has shown leadership skills within the team that suggest he will soon become the team's official leader in place of Cyborg. Robin's detective skills have also uncovered information pertaining to Superboy's genetic donors, namely Lex Luthor and Superman. Robin has shown signs that he may be becoming weary of his role as Robin. Whether he will retire the identity is yet to be revealed.

Robin is an expert martial artist. His skill with his Bo staff is world class and he knows several unique fighting styles from his time in Europe. Whilst having no super powers Tim has an immense intellect and is at the peak of physical fitness for someone his age. He has remarkable detective and strategic skills and a presence similar to his mentor, Batman. Overall, Tim is probably more athletic and more intuitive than Dick or Jason, making him the most effective Robin to date. Tim is remarkably stealthy and is able to conceal himself in shadows most effectively. Tim's costume is equipped with a variety of gadgetry to protect and assist him. A detailed spec can be viewed here. (http://www.angelfire.com/pq/robin/suite.html) Tim also has his own custom scooter, known as the Redbird, which is loaded with technology similar to the Batmobile.

Alvin Draper was the false "real" name he gave Young Justice after Sins of Youth, although come to think to it, I don't think I recall them ever calling him by it afterward anyway.

As for Mr.Sarcastic, that was the identity assumed whe Young Justice particpated in a reality show. Rather than just dissapear over the whole "Robin is an urban legend thing" he decided to stick around with the team under that identity, although it was only for an issue or two.

Whiel you could take or leave Mr. Sarcastic, Alvin Draper is a must as an alias. Not only did he use it with YJ, but it was the name that he used with Stephanie when they started dating and he was going with her to lamaze and when infiltarting the dojo of Philip "Dragoncat" Parsons. It's the equivalent of his "Matches" Malone.

Also, major enemies shoudl include Cluemaster, Ulysees "the General" Hadrian, and Johhny Warlock.

Also, as a final question, why do you seem to cut off the discussion of his own series after issue 28, and then focus so heavily on his time with YJ? You miss his problems with his father, his relationship with Spoiler, his time at private school, and his recent battles with Johnny Warlock.

His Fathers Deceased now as is Spoiler. His costume has changed but they have yet to give out the specs for it. I do however love the fact that you put in that he has a similar presence to his mentor and his stealthy habits. :)
