Anissa was born into a heritage of super heroing. Granted metahuman powers at birth, these powers first manifested when she was eleven years old. Her parents had shielded her from her heritage and when she suddenly fell through the floor of her classroom into the basement, 25 feet in all, her teachers were stunned to find her without a scratch. After S.T.A.R. Labs conducted some tests on her they determined that her meta gene had given her the ability to alter her density.

Anissa continued to grow in a loving and caring environment despite her parents divorcing. She enjoyed good relationships with her father and mother and obeyed them when they told her that she was not to become a super heroine. Her parents bargained with her and managed to agree that she would not consider being a super heroine until she had completed her higher education. Anissa was a model student and graduated magna cum laude from pre-med school in Tulane University. On her graduation day her father came to congratulate her only to find that she was changing into a vigilante costume and donning a wig. Having fulfilled her side of the bargain, Anissa intended to pursue a life of crime fighting.

Anissa soon attracted the attention of Arsenal who was trying to form his new team. When Arsenal managed to recruit Nightwing as well the team became the Outsiders. Anissa was among a slew of rookies in the team and formed a quick friendship with Grace. On the team's first mission Thunder managed to become so dense that she stopped a jet fighter dead in its tracks. Thunder was also partially responsible for the breakout at the Slab but did help to bring in the demonic villain Sabbac. While fighting Sabbac, Anissa again ran into her father who had donned his costume again. While he disapproved of her career choice he was obviously proud to see her handling herself so well.

Anissa possesses the ability to increase her density. The level to which she can do this is unknown but it must be to something like a couple of tons for her not to be moved by a crashing jet fighter. It is not known whether she can decrease her density so as to fly or phase. Anissa's standard attack strategy is her thunder clap where she makes herself supremely dense and then stamps on the ground, releasing a huge thunder clap and seismic shock.

Did her density change affect Grace when she caught that jet fighter? I can't tell if it did or didn't.

The mechanics of it were that her density acted as the ballast holding grace. If grace had taken the hit without Thunder she'd have been ok still but would have not been able to stop the jet, she'd just be pushing against it. Thunder acted as a massive weight holding grace still while she caught the plane.

shouldn't her enemies include Shimmer? since she drowned her from the inside out using her powers. maybe that could be added to her bio.

I wouldn't call Shimmer a major enemy. She fought her once. A lot of the bios aren't constantly updated but we try our best!
