I just got done checking out the article, and so far the game looks to be in pretty good shape. From the description that the article gave, it seems as if the game isn't complicated at all. Sure, it may take a little bit to learn the basic rules of the game but it is all in good fun. Not only that, but having several different Marvel Comics characters involved is a good idea. Th game itself will be able to help those who aren't familiar with Marvel to get a glimpse of what they have been missing.

Some of the individuals that play the game may become more interested in the comics as a result. Big thumbs up to Marvel for taking the initiative, and congratulations to WhizKids for a job well done.

It's sad, but I'm going to have to pick up this stuff. I was a big fan of Mage Knight and so I know this will be a fun and easy system to use. Heck, it would be cool to have Marvel VS. D.C. battles, don't you think?

after i read the first article, and had a breif talk with eric (x-fan), i decided to check out their (wizkids) mage knight game. this game looks pretty damn cool, so the other day i went out and bought some figures so my friends and i could play. the rules are really easy to learn, but still allow a level of complexity (in strategy) to make a great gaming experience. anyway, todays the day we try it out. heroclix should have a very similar feel to it, so i asume if we all like mage knight, we'll be doin' heroclix too.

also, i remember seeing someone post in the original article that they wished the figures weren't painted... well, looking at the mage knight figures, you might just want to repaint them anyway. the paintjobs aren't really as crisp, clean, and colorful as the pictures on the site... it still gets the job done, but they could look alot better.

true, but it allows an instant accessibility for those who aren't traditional table top game players like myself.

Though the paint could be better on some of the figures, it's not as bad as it seems.

Yeah, it would be cool to have Marvel vs. DC battles. I am not too familiar with DC, though. The only characters I know well enough are Batman and Superman. Other than that, I know very little. I know a hell of a lot more about Marvel, and the chances are that if you ask me a question concerning any Marvel Comics character or characters, I would be able to answer it correctly.

Collecting comic books since 1990 will do that to you.

This game looks like it will be something pretty cool. I only wish taht my friends would be interested enough in something like that to actually check it out.

Trust me, it is really hard getting your friends into something even remotely comic book related. I have tried before with my best friend David, but he just never seemed interested. Oh, well. He turned out loving the X Men movie. Just wait until he gets to see Blade 2 and Spider Man this spring.

I wouldn't mind getting figures like Batman or Superman though... some of the all time greatest comic characters!

THen you can pit Wolverine against Batman whenever you want!

Ha ha. Very funny. I am trying to stick to one forum. Going to more than one is too much of a strain. I would be much happier staying here, thank you very much. It is the first one on the list, after all.

I only have two question what the hell is this Marvel Infinity do hicky, and what the hell is a Hero clix?

Ever since i first saw these things i've been wondering. Soome people say it's a game, Okay well if it's a game then how the hell do you play it. I swear if this is anything like that dumb ass Warhammer stuff you can count me out.

Hero Clix? What up wit dat?

Tiered and confused when i first saw those words i was all like, "Cool!" The Max imprint got really mature.

I'm honest i would really like more info on this if at all possible.

The game is called Marvel HeroClix: Infinity Challenge. The DC companion game is called DC HeroClix: HyperTime.

Well I've never played Warhammer, so I can't say anything as to its merits, but from all reports the HeroClix games will be similar to WizKids' better-known Mage Knight game. From what I've seen of that, it looks like a good fun tabletop miniatures game.

I'm honest i would really like more info on this if at all possible.

Check out the WizKids Web site (link is in the article) for more.

It really is a lot of fun and it's kept relatively simple. YOu pick armies based on the amount of 'points' written on each figure... basically you can have up to 200 points for your army (or whatever amount you decide upon).

On each dial is listed numbers for movement, attack strength, and in some cases range. Most of these numbers refer to either dice rolls (normal dice) or distance measured in inches.

If you can 'reach' a figure with an attack, you roll the amount of defense points you have (ie. 16) vs. the strength of the other person attacking (ie. 10). Therefore you have to roll a six or higher to have 'hit' that person. If you do, you have to subtract the amount of damage done to you (if your attacker has a damage rating of 3, you take 3 'clicks' on your dial revealing your new status level).

It's pretty basic, but you can mix things up by adding terrain or objectives.

Cool stuff.

Yeah, that is cool stuff. Reading that description made me even more anxious to play the game.

Sooo? It is like that warhammer, mage knight, AD&D monkey money BS. Man i swear to god. Why don't they just stick to freaking comics? All i ever see playing those types of games are a bunch of old guys with a lot more money and time than they have brains. Let me guess the little figures cost about $20 and are exactly 1" high plastic or pewter that you have to paint. Then you have to build this huge ass table (game board) thing with trees and all the little essentials. Good grief do you know how much that BS cost at my local hobby shop.

All i'm saying is, if i want a model i get a car preferably a Baracuda. If i want a game i go to the store and get Monopoly. Give me a break a guy does have to pay mortgague.

mage knight is a lot more affordable, and you don't have to buy any add ons to go with it. It's fast and simple, and cheap for what you get.

Damn. You do have a point there. I can't say that your statement turned me away from the game, but I will definately be looking at the prices before I buy some of the figures.
