Vincente was a member of the Hellions, who were led by the creature called Emplate. He assisted in capturing the mutants of Generation X for Emplate to feed on. When Emplate's sister Monet tried to stop the Hellions, Vincente went after her and encountered the X-Man Bishop. Vincente later returned with Emplate to kidnap Penance, and was again defeated.

Vincente's current fate is unknown.

Vincent was also a character in the AoA version of Generation X (Generation Next). He was a good guy and was in all four issues. These issues were actually his FIRST appearances, although that was in AoA, not 616. I really liked Vincent. He was last seen at the end of issue 4 of Gen Next on Husk's back. He was dying, and probably died not long after, just like every other member of the team.

The AoA Vincente has his bio in the Age of Apocalypse section.

Though there's already (or should be) a bio for AoA Vincente over in the AoA section of the bios.

Perhaps under distinguishable features one should say: Purple skin with elaborate markings

Yep, there's already a bio for Vincente's AoA counterpart.

I think he was also in Generation X # 57. Was he?

M.O. Frisch Jan 21, 2003 08:50 am

Was Emplate's group referred to as "Hellions" in story?

Yeah, though not in story. They were called the Hellions in the solicts.

tyran80 Jan 21, 2003 02:42 pm

Didn't Emplate say something about his Hellions during their first appearance arc?

Okay, it's not canon then -- thanks.

What does canon/non canon mean?

Canon is what is part of continuity, usually limited only to the major comics produced by Marvel. Promotional comics released by Pizza Hut are not canon, for instance. Neither are names or ideas that never saw print, such as Paulie Provenzano's codename (Omerta), the reason behind Phoenix and Psylocke's power switch (Shadow King encounter), the name of Emplate's crew (Hellions). Each of these bits of information were only revealed in preview material before the comic hit the shelf, or in interviews and chats where writers mention what they MEANT to have happen in a certain story.

Thanks I always wondered about that. You could list previous codenames as "Smokey" from his first Gen X appearance. I'd like Vincente to appear again even if its only to be killed off.

Mesran Feb 15, 2003 06:05 am

"Smokey" was just a name he suggested to M before he changed his mind and chose "Vincente".

And it was Misty, not Smokey.

Blast my useless memory.

He'd be great in Weapon X!
