Prosh
Real Name: Prosh
Known Aliases: Professor First Appearance: X-Force #39 Last Appearance: X-Men: Forever #6 Cause of Death: Sacrificed self to contain the Stanger Group Affiliation: Formerly X-Force I Known Allies: Cable, Domino II, X-Force I Eyes: Yellow Hair: Bald Other Distinguishing Features: Very similar in appearance to that of a Phalanx During the Phalanx Covenant, a Phalanx drone went to X-Force HQ, Camp Verde, with the intent to assimilate X-Force, but instead ran into a highly advanced computer program – Professor. When the Phalanx drone attempted to infiltrate the Professor's cybernet the flow of information overwhelmed it and the Professor’s program was transferred into the Phalanx. This gave Professor something he always desired, a corporeal body. For a short time, Prosh, as he named himself stayed with X-Force at Camp Verde, but unfortunately the energy signatures that his body gave out disrupted all mechanical instruments at Camp Verde, including Cable’s techno-organic mesh. To correct this, Prosh was forced to leave Cable and X-Force by latching himself onto a ship and blasting into space and destroying Camp Verde in the process. In space Prosh came in contact with a being known as the Stranger, who wanted control of humanity. Prosh gathered Jean, Toad, Mystique, Iceman, and Juggernaut so that he could have them experience instances of their past to better understand the future, but this was just a ruse to hide the Stranger's true intentions. Prosh later sacrificed himself to contain the Stranger. APPEARANCES: X-Force #39 X-Men: Forever #1-6 |
wasnt prosh also the person responsible for xmen: forever?

Don't know, don't have that series, but if somebody does just PM me with the details and i'll adjust the bio.
|
Yes, he was in those issues as well. The Stranger was actually the villian behind it all, but Prosh was the one who gathered the X-Men. Also, I believe he "died" in those issues, at least, as much as a sentient machine lifeform can.
|
yeah, prosh gathered jean, toad, mystique, iceman, and cain so that he could have them experience instances of their past to better understand the future. prosh is on the escape from a celestial, and has come to warn earth. prosh was being controlled by the stranger, who wanted to control humanity or something and was using the gathered five as a ruse. prosh then was reponsible for changing toad and mystique, making them look like their then xmen movie counterparts. in the end he was seemingly killed; basically sacrificed himself to contain the stranger.

Ok, I adjusted the bio, and if there's anything else needed to be done just tell me :)
|
Prosh ought to be considered the same character as X-Factor's Ship and Cable's Professor.
|
I agree with qtrmp. My understanding is that Ship, which once served Apocalypse and later became the sentient headquarters to X-Factor, is one and the same as Prosh. That puts his first appearance much earlier. Not sure if he was seen before X-Factor #1.
|
Also I don't think he died to contian the stranger. He may still be alive inside that huge container

It's been a while since I read the issues, but from what I remember, he want into system failure at the end of issue 5 of X-Men Forever. Parts of him may still be around, but I'm pretty sure the sentient part of him is gone. That quailifies him as dead in my book. Certainly, with Marvel currently wanting to forget about a lot of the character's created during the 90's, he will probably never be seen again anyway.

Even then Ship and Professor should have indepedent bios because it is technically two different programs.
