Fenris (Andrea Von Strucker / Andreas Von Strucker)
Fenris
Created by Chris Claremont and John Romita Jr. Real Name: Andrea and Andreas Von Strucker First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #194 (in real identities), Uncanny X-Men #200 (as Fenris) (June 1985) Last Appearance: (Andrea) Citizen V & The V-Battalion #3 (August 2001) Cause of Death: Killed by Baron Zemo Known Relatives: Baron Von Strucker (father), Jan (last name unrevealed, Andrea's husband, deceased) Group Affiliation: Hydra, formerly Thunderbolts IV, Upstarts Major Enemies: X-Men, Magneto The son and daughter of the Nazi terrorist Baron Von Strucker, the Fenris twins were genetically altered by their father's scientists so that Andrea possessed the power to generate bio-electricity, and Andreas was able to generate highly-volatile concussive force. When in physical contact with each other, they can project bioelectric blasts of great power. After the supposed death of their father and the fragmenting of Hydra, the twins formed their own secret organisation, naming it Fenris after the monstrous wolf-god of Norse mythology. They first encountered Storm in Kenya where they were on safari. After a brief altercation, Andrea shot Storm with a rifle, but Storm survived nonetheless. Later, the twins learned that Magneto was being put on trial in Paris, charged with crimes against humanity. Hoping to gain revenge on behalf of their father, who was nearly killed by Magneto in an encounter years before, the Fenris organisation staged terrorist attacks across Europe, leaving messages behind demanding Magneto's release, supposedly signed by the X-Men. The effect was to stir up public sentiment even further against Magneto and the X-Men. However, the X-Men prevented the Fenris organisation from completely destroying a French hospital and then clashed with the organisation again in Paris. As the battle progressed, the Strucker twins broke into the courtroom where Magneto was on trial and attempted to kill him. They were defeated by the combined forces of Magneto and Professor Xavier. Later, the twins joined the Gamesmaster's organisation called the Upstarts, and they participated in the event known as the 'Younghunt' wherein they captured Magma. Shortly after, the 'Younghunt' was stopped by the combined forces of X-Force and the New Warriors. Fenris next appeared when Gambit was seeking out the mystical gem known as the Forever Princess. It was alluded to that they share a history with Gambit, and that Gambit also once had some sort of an intimate relationship with Andrea. After a mission which brought Hydra into conflict with the V-Battalion, Andrea learned of Citizen V's true identity as Baron Zemo. Not wanting his secret to be revealed, Zemo ran Andrea through with his sword. When the deranged Scarlet Witch temporarily warped the reality to create the world ruled by the House of M, both Andrea and Andreas were members of the Thunderbolts, a group led by their father. In this reality both were killed by Major Erik Josten. They were also in Alpha Flight vol. 1 # 121.
|
They also appeared clinking glasses together during the time when Wolverine, Psylocke and Jubilee were together. They were working with the japanese guy who first corrupted Psylocke on her re-emergence from the Siege Perilous .
I can't remember his name, but the issue was in the 270's I believe. Maybe it was 268 which you have mentioned. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

|
Re: Fenris
You mean #11?
We're probably updating all the House of M stuff at once in some point. That doesn't really change the current status of Fenris. |
