Bloodscream's macabre life has brought him from the deck of Sir Francis Drake's pirate ship to a souped-up Stealth fighter flown by Albert and Elsie Dee.
Ages ago, Bloodscream was turned into an unnaturally strong, shape-shifting vampire by the pagan necromancer Dagoo. Now he is doomed to suck the life out of his victims until he finds the "blood of a man who ageth not", and he sought to find that man in Wolverine, whom he first encountered in 1944 at the Battle of Normandy.
He then encountered Wolverine again in Madripoor, when he and his then partner Roughhouse were working for the local crimelord. Bloodscream then teamed with Cylla to track down Wolverine, but was seemingly slain when Wolverine struck him down with the Honour Sword of the Clan Yashida.
Bloodscream survived, however, by absorbing Cylla's life energy. Later he seemingly sacrificed his life in repelling an interdimensional invasion of Earth by the N'garai, however he has since returned to prove himself a thorn in Wolverine's side.
Most recently, Bloodscream agreed to serve the malevolent Mauvais so as to exact his revenge on Wolverine.
