Chris Bradley lived the life of a normal teenager until his latent mutant powers emerged. Taken in by the X-Men, young Chris trained in the use of his powers until it was learned he had the Legacy Virus, upon which he returned home with his parents to live out the remainder of his life. His only friend was Donna Funaro, who did her best to understand what Chris was going through, and the two quickly fell in love.

After his house was burned down by mutant-hating people, he sought out Maverick, who had helped Chris in the past, and Maverick helped relocate Chris and his family. Chris took on the codename of Bolt after he stopped some thugs from attacking his doctor.

Moving to New York City to become a super-hero in an attempt to better human/mutant relations, Bolt was on hand to help the recently reformed New Warriors stop Blastaar, and after the villain was defeated he joined the team.

Later, upon learning of the apparent death of Maverick, Chris swore revenge on the Weapon X project. To that end, he joined the Underground resistance group led by Cable who were opposing the project and its Director. Chris underwent combat training under Cable's tutelage to become the new Maverick in honor of his friend's memory.

After months of opposing the program, Chris finally encountered the operative named Agent Zero. However, he proved no match for the mercenary and was mortally wounded. Dying in Zero's arms, he revealed his identity to the man who, in turn, revealed himself to be the original Maverick.

Dammit! I havent read that issue yet. I saw this on the front page and the whole suprise was ruined for me.

Cant you guys wait to update bios at least a week after the issue is out for us people that do not get our comics on wednesday?

Crap, mate, sorry about that. Seeing as we get comics here in Australia later than you do Stateside, I thought enough time had passed before making the updates. Obviously not enough!

As far as I know, it just came out yesterday here. If it DID come out last Wednesday here, my retailer didnt pull me a copy like he should have.
