Great review, sounds very good.

Considering i thought Maus was excellent, it looks like this will be on the same vane.

Man its steep though, a lot of money for so few pages, despite the good quality paper.

i'll just have to save up for a bit.

I enjoyed Maus, and was intrigued by this book, but was put off slightly by the price and the format - where the hell am i gonna keep this bad boy?

I've read all of Maus from a local library and it's great work. My local comic shop for some odd reason, didn't order this. On another note, I don't think he ordered Persepolis 2 either. Usually, my shop is good on ordering small press and all mainstream books and not just most of the mainstream, like most complaints I hear about comic shops. The Barnes & Noble at my college didn't carry this either but it's just a small shop. B&N is doing a good job of featuring it and I'll probably pick this up soon. I think they sell it discounted actually.

I understand the reservations about the price, but really, the format is great. As I said, it wouldn't work for every book, but it's really effective here. It's a nice book; you just need to make room for it on a shelf.

To be entirely accurate, this isn't a small-press book. Pantheon is a division of Random House, one of the biggest publishers in the world.

I was somewhat disappointed in my local shop, as they weren't displaying the book very prominently. The girl at the cash expressed her surprise that so many people were buying it (and this was just Wednesday afternoon), so that didn't seem to be deterring anybody. Of course, I'm not convinced she even knew who Art Spiegelman was.
