Murmur was one of the rookie members of the reformed Alpha Flight team led by the clone of the original Guardian. Like her teammates Radius and Flex, Murmur was a resident of the orphanage called Hull House in Orloo, Canada, where Department H secretly recruits young mutants from.

After the original Alpha Flight team members had rejoined the group, Murmur was reassigned to Department H's Beta Flight training team. She was depowered during the M-Day and the energies that she used to control were then drawn to the Collective.

Murmur was able to force people to do whatever she commands via physical contact. The success of her power depended on the strength of will of the person she was attempting to command.

Note that Murmur III should not be confused with Murmur I (Moon Knight foe) or Murmur II (Emplate's Hellions).
